Request account and data deletion

Surgical Tech Review, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and protected when you use the ScrubFlow mobile application (“ScrubFlow” or the “App”).

Information We Collect

Creating an account is optional. When you create a ScrubFlow account, we collect your email address and an associated user identifier. This information is used to create and maintain your account, authenticate your access to the App, and associate your learning progress with your account.

ScrubFlow also stores learning and performance data, such as procedure practice progress, completed activities, scores, and mastery information. This information allows your progress to be saved and synchronized with your account.

You may also use ScrubFlow as a guest without creating an account. Guest learning progress is stored locally on your device and is not synchronized to our cloud account database. Removing the App or clearing its data may delete locally stored guest progress.

We do not require users to provide sensitive medical information, patient information, or protected health information (PHI), and ScrubFlow is not intended for storing or transmitting patient information.

How We Use Information

Information collected through ScrubFlow is used to:

• Create and authenticate user accounts.
• Provide access to App features.
• Save and synchronize learning progress and performance.
• Maintain and improve the functionality and security of the App.
• Respond to support, privacy, or account-related requests.

We do not sell users’ personal information or use personal information for third-party advertising.

Third-Party Services

ScrubFlow uses third-party services necessary to operate the App.

Supabase provides authentication, database, and cloud infrastructure used to maintain accounts and synchronize learning progress.

Apple provides App Store distribution and StoreKit functionality for purchases and restoration of ScrubFlow’s Lifetime Access purchase on iOS. Google provides Google Play distribution and Google Play Billing for purchases and eligible purchase restoration on Android.

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their services and are subject to their own privacy policies and applicable privacy requirements.

Purchases

ScrubFlow offers a Lifetime Access in-app purchase through Apple’s App Store on iOS and Google Play on Android.

Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, depending on your device and the store used. Surgical Tech Review, LLC does not receive or store your complete payment-card information. Purchase entitlement information may be used by the App to determine whether paid ScrubFlow features should be unlocked.

Data Retention

Account and learning-progress information is retained while your ScrubFlow account remains active or as reasonably necessary to provide the App’s services.

When an account is deleted, the account and associated ScrubFlow learning-performance data are deleted from our systems, subject to any information that must be retained when required by applicable law.

Information maintained independently by Apple or Google, including their respective store transaction records, is governed by those providers’ policies and is not deleted by deleting a ScrubFlow account. Guest progress stored locally on a device may be removed by uninstalling the App or clearing its data.

ScrubFlow Account and Data Deletion

Request deletion without using the app: Email surgicaltechreview@gmail.com with the subject “ScrubFlow Account Deletion Request” and identify the email address associated with your ScrubFlow account. We may need to verify account ownership before processing the request. You do not need to reinstall the app to make a request.

Delete within the app: Open ScrubFlow, go to the Account screen, and select Delete Account. Follow the confirmation prompts.

Data deleted: Your ScrubFlow account, associated email address and user identifier in our account system, and cloud-stored procedure practice progress, completed activities, scores, and mastery information are deleted when the deletion is processed.

Data retained: We may retain information only where required by applicable law, for the period required by that law. We do not specify a fixed additional retention period for deleted account and learning-progress data. Apple and Google independently retain any store transaction records according to their own policies.

Deleting your account removes your ScrubFlow account and associated cloud learning-progress data. Account deletion does not cancel, revoke, or erase a purchase maintained by Apple or Google.

Eligible purchases may be restored using the purchase-restoration functionality of the same app store account and platform through which they were originally made, subject to the store’s rules. Purchases made through Apple and Google Play are managed separately and do not automatically transfer between stores.

Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through ScrubFlow. However, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Children’s Privacy

ScrubFlow is an educational application intended for surgical technology education and training. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected inappropriately, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Educational and Medical Disclaimer

ScrubFlow is provided for educational and study purposes only. Content within the App is not medical advice and is not a substitute for formal surgical technology education, supervised clinical training, institutional policies, surgeon preferences, professional judgment, or applicable standards of practice.

Surgical procedures, techniques, instrumentation, equipment, and practices may vary according to the surgeon, facility, patient circumstances, available equipment, and other factors.

Users should follow the policies and procedures of their educational institution, healthcare facility, instructors, supervising professionals, and applicable professional standards.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to ScrubFlow, applicable requirements, or our privacy practices. When the policy is updated, the effective date shown above will be revised.
